Mindfulness for Mental Strength

Many of us are aware that good general health involves proper mental healthcare. There are various ways to care for our mental state but what happens when triggers and stressors feel unbearable? What happens when external adversity builds to critical levels? The answer rests in the strength of our mental state; developing mental strength enables us to deal with stressors created by adversity.

So, how does one develop a strong mental state? There are many ways to develop mental strength and practicing Mindfulness is one of them. Mindfulness is one of the most powerful tools for building mental strength. Through Mindfulness, we gain self-control, regenerate, focus, and enlighten ourselves. All of which lead to Mental Teflon.

Many of us associate Mindfulness with stress relief, a coping mechanism to control anxiety, and even relate mindfulness exclusively to meditation. However, I view practicing mindfulness as a tool for enlightenment and strength, as much as a means of relaxation/meditation.

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness of the present moment, while calmly acknowledging one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. Mindfulness can also be defined as maintaining a present state of mind and living in gratitude.

Mindfulness involves self control in two ways: technical practice and subconscious enlightenment.

In the practical or technical sense, mindfulness involves processes relating to self-control. Self control is crucial to mental strength because it involves resisting habits, negative thought, time management, and deliberate positive present centering.

Self-control attained through mindfulness leads to strength through Enlightenment. The decision to be mindful is one arrived at from a place of strength. The courage to self-reflect involves strength. In order to be mindful, we have to first decide to do so. It takes inner strength to look inside and make a change. You see, Mindfulness begins at a place of strength.

Clarity and enlightenment are often achieved as we develop mindfulness. In this sense, clarity is developed as a result of individual growth. Through mindfulness, we eliminate negative thoughts, which leaves space for growth, rejuvenation, and enlightenment.

Through Mindfulness we:

Create space in our minds for free association and positive thought. By freeing our minds of existing toxins, there is room left to seek creation and enlightenment.

While simultaneously

Practice or further develop time management skills, meditation, exercise, and the new habits/thoughts gained by practicing mindfulness.

Mindfulness strengthens us mentally by subconsciously propelling us forward on the continuum of progress...all while remaining focused on the present. The repetition of mindfulness, coupled with stress-relieving properties, fortifies self-control because we begin to enjoy practicing it.

Strength is also achieved by living in the natural resting state, which allows us to be present. Our minds at rest are recuperating. We are allowing for proper cell regeneration when our bodies are at rest. A rested mind contributes to a healthy mental state and a rested physical state. After a restful state, mindfulness feeds our brains "good stuff" through positivity. All of which becomes a habit. The practice of these habits, coupled with the benefits, results in fuel for the mind.

So keep being mindful, it helps to center us in far more ways than we imagine.

….And Remember; On Today MindBeingWell.
